Board games are experiencing a real renaissance, and this trend, in my opinion, is far from accidental. We all know how quickly digital games are evolving, and indeed, some games in the VR genre or with incredibly detailed graphics can absorb us for an hour or two. However, as cool as all this technology is, the return to board games is associated with several important aspects that are difficult to reproduce in a digital format. As stated in https://www.eastmojo.com/em-buzz/2025/02/18/reverse-gaming-evolution-when-digital-natives-rediscover-physical-board-games/, it is worth talking about the socio-cultural component. Board games are not just a game, they are almost always a collective experience. Even if we play mobile games with friends, we still remain in our own apartments and interact through a screen. In board games, it is important that all players are in the same room, at the same table. This creates a special atmosphere of communication and, what is no less important, the absence of technological interference. In digital games there are always distractions - a phone, notifications, Internet pages, that is, even if you play with friends, you always have access to other information and distractions. In board games there is no such opportunity - all attention is focused on the game and communication with people.

Interesting point of view! By the way, I noticed that recently there really has been a whole trend towards board games. Even among my friends, I began to see how people who previously only played mobile games or consoles suddenly started buying board games. True, here the process of choosing games is also very interesting. Do you have any favorite games that have become something important for you lately? For example, I didn’t expect that a simple game like Carcassonne could be so addictive. This, in my opinion, confirms that people are looking for some “real” experiences, and not just buttons on the screen.
